Still Some Bugs, But…

This is more or less going to be how the place will look now. I have to crack down with some fixes on the site, and I’ve waited to add sidebar and other goodies until later. Hopefully I’ll have it all up and running later this week?

For the CURIOUS about WP Canvas only: I figured out what the deal with the Canvas system was - I changed many of the height definitions to auto rather than 100%, and gave the body a fixed width to allow for scrolling. IE does weird things with floats anyhow, but setting height as anything other than auto sets off a chain-reaction of weirdness.

Nice. As always, very impressed with your skill, K! I couldn’t program my way out of a cardboard box.

Thanks Robin and Andrea, that’s much appreciated. Still pounding away at it as I have time, so thanks!

Very nice! But I have to scroll from side to side now. But that is happening with more and more sites every day. I guess I just need a new fancy wide screen monitor. But they never die when you want them to do they? :O)

Victoria, on 800×600 settings, you should hopefully only need to scroll over for the sidebar. Or at least that is how I”m hoping I have it set up. You don’t have to scroll over for reading entries or comments on the permalink page click do you?

  6. Victoria O Says:

Hi, no, just for the sidebar.
    :O)

ohhhhh… this looks cool. You managed to give your site a totally new look but still keep what was good in the old look. I like it. And… Isn’t it amazing what a single word or a few characters in code can do or not?

ahhhhh… and now I found the links. Hey… that’s even cooler! Congrat’s 2u from an envy fellow blogger

Andy, it may go through some further tinkering as changes to the Canvas platform are altered to more direct php functions, but for now I’m tired of tinkering. Reintroducing the jump menus was a little scary, since I had earlier problems with certain javascript commands interfering with the interface. SO glad you approve! Whew!
